What it is. ClientCounsel.ai (CC) is a litigation workflow platform with a built-in AI co-worker. It turns a matter into one organized, verified workflow — and it gives the client and the lawyer one shared workspace on the same file. It's built for British Columbia (private beta), by Erevna Labs.

Why a client is asking for it. Legal work is expensive because so much of it is document handling — organizing the file, building the chronology, assembling the record, drafting routine forms, checking authorities. CC does that heavy lifting up front, so the matter reaches you already prepared, and you spend your time on judgment and strategy instead of assembly.

What it does for you, counsel:

  • The matter arrives organized — chronology cross-referenced to exhibits, record and book of authorities assembled, routine court forms drafted from the file.
  • You stay in control. You review before anything is filed; you set strategy; the co-worker carries the load. It's your supervised tool, like any other in your practice.
  • Grounded, not open-web. CC is designed to answer only from retrieved, cited sources — the applicable court rules and the matter's own record — and to label answers by confidence, rather than generating from scratch. It's built to reduce the “made-up citation” risk, not add to it.
  • Works unbundled or full retainer. Take on a prepared matter at lower cost, or cut the back-and-forth on a full-retainer file. Either way, client and counsel share one workspace.

Why now. Clients are already asking firms to use AI (Adam Chilton, Dean, University of Chicago Law School, Bloomberg, 2026). The Federal Court of Canada has recognized AI can “improve the efficiency and fairness of the legal system.” The Law Society of BC notes generative AI presents lawyers with “exciting opportunities for efficiency and productivity.” CC is a way to meet that demand with a tool designed around a lawyer's obligations.
